LOGAN BOW ART & ARCHITECTURE PORTFOLIO
A Bit About Me
Hey there, and welcome! I’m Logan Bow, a Mount Eden-based artist currently studying architecture at the University of Auckland. Creativity has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember—I’ve been making art since childhood (2004, to be exact!), and I’m excited to be growing as an emerging artist both nationally and internationally.
Between my studies and sporting commitments, I’ve always found ways to channel my hyper-creativity, and my journey gained commercial momentum during my time at Auckland Grammar School. Since then, I’ve been pushing my work into community and commercial spaces, sharing my vision with a wider audience.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the incredible support from my friends, family, and everyone who has taken an interest in my work. Whether you’ve been with me from the start or are just discovering my art now—thank you! I’m excited to keep creating and sharing this journey with you.
Cheers!
THE NARRATIVE
THE NARRATIVE
Logan Bow is currently studying a con-joint masters in Architecture (prof) and Urban Design and is competing at a high level of artistic gymnastics. Selling his first painting in 2019 at Auckland Grammar’s Art House Tour, he now has moved on to sculptural forms focusing on materiality. His values as an artist are as follows:
Multi-Disciplinary Experimentation
Logan never likes to work with just one medium. He continuously searches for the new, whether that be in cast acrylic, shells, paint, resin, metal leaf and much more. Embodying the cliche, ‘practice makes perfection’, Logan manifests qualities of efficiency, extremity and excellence.
Bespoke, Balance & Form
Studying architecture has helped Logan nurture a critical eye for perfection, particularly under the teachings of gold-medal American architect Marlon Blackwell, who emphasises his architectural philosophy of figure-figural-figuration and singularities in design.
Community Integration & Engagement
Among Logan’s studies and practices, he drives hard to integrate his work into the public domain primarily through live demonstrations, competitions, speeches and contributing to many distinguished art shows.
“Years ago, I would have never thought I would be so active in the community. I think that these opportunities develop my confidence as an artist and I am grateful to everyone who engages and finds interest in my passionate art practice”
